A History Of Body Plugs

Use of jewellery has been a way to show beauty for ages now. Many centuries ago people used ornaments to make they look good and appealing. The designs have changed according to how they look and also the parts of the body where they are worn. Nowadays, they are worn on the ears, nose, navel, lips and also other parts of the body. Each body plug is designed according to the part of the body that it is to be worn. It has even turned out that many men then women are using them unlike in the past.

They are made of many types of material like plastics, cheap metals and also expensive metals like gold. However, not everyone can afford those expensive types of plugs. That has made people opt to use other materials such as plastics, cheap metals, and organic made plugs. A person can use body plugs for beauty, peer pressure or to identify with a particular group of people. They are also worn by a person who has a pierce on the body part that he wants to wear the plug. That means the first thing to do in order to be able to wear a body plug is to pierce the body part. This should be done by an experienced professional to avoid chances  of hurting yourself  or messing up .

After you have pierced your body and the wound has healed, you can now go ahead and buy plugs that please you and make you look good. You should choose a plug that looks good on you and one that you feel comfortable with. You should also be aware that body plugs are a way of body modification since it is long term and permanent.
In order for a body plug to stay in place, it should be flared out to hold the plug in place. This means that it can be double flared, single flared or have a straight plug.

a) Double flared-In this kind of plug; there is no need to use o-rings. This is because both sides are flared and this makes the plug stay in place.
b) Single flared-One end is usually flared. The side that does not have a flare is held in place using an o-ring.
c) Straight flare-It does not have a flare on any side. So what hold the plug in place are sliding o-rings put on both sides of the plug.

This gives you quite a large choice to choose from when you want to buy body plugs. They should also be chosen with care since some of those that are very cheap may be made of metals that could react with body fluids and cause infections in your body.

They originated from the Egyptians. They were worn by both men and women .and were  worn on their ear lobes. After some years, they modified them and a special class of people started wearing plugs made of silver and ivory.
